Bohemia, N.Y. December 11, 2020 – On this day, 70 years ago, my father founded our Company. Not many companies reach their 70th Anniversary. Given the tumultuous situation in the world today, including the COVID-19 pandemic, 70 years is certainly an accomplishment.
I would like to thank all of our employees and our retirees for their dedication, loyalty, and hard work. It is by working together that we have had great success. Each and every employee – at our headquarters in New York, our sites in Connecticut, Maryland, and Kansas, and those working remotely in other states are part of the rich history of Dayton T. Brown, Inc.
I would be remiss in not mentioning our customers as being key to our success. We are proud to serve all the branches of the military, helping our warfighters stay safe. Each of our divisions has a unique role in this effort – whether testing equipment, developing manuals for military aircraft and vehicles, or building sophisticated communication equipment and trailers – we are there for our military. And our military has been there for all of us throughout our 70 years.
Our commercial customers depend on us to certify that their equipment will function properly during intended use and that aircraft, rail, and heavy equipment will have quality documentation for operation and maintenance.
We could not have come to this juncture in our history without the continued support from all of our customers. Our reputation for integrity, ingenuity, and engineering excellence has been a touchstone in customer loyalty over the years. We owe a deep gratitude to our valued customers – both military and commercial.
I am so very honored and proud to celebrate our 70th Anniversary and to lead Dayton T. Brown, Inc. into the future.

Dayton T. Brown, Inc. (DTB) has been synonymous with the pursuit of excellence and customer service for over 70 years. As a leader in the fields of testing, engineering, logistics, technical publications, and military mission systems, DTB has gained national respect and recognition. The Company was founded in 1950 and is headquartered on 32 acres in Bohemia, NY. Today, the Company is composed of three divisions, whose operations are widely diversified yet complement one another.
The Engineering & Test Division provides testing services for aerospace and defense, life support and survival equipment, and automobile, rail, transit, and other systems. The Mission Systems Division supports DoD rapid prototyping and limited production of updates to military aircraft and ground systems with a focus on the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance community. From design, prototyping, production, and support, DTB and its multiple industry partners provide full life cycle support to these critical systems.
