Dayton T. Brown, Jr. has been an integral part of Dayton T. Brown, Inc. since 1951, joining the company shortly after its founding by his father, Dayton T. Brown, Sr., in 1950. Throughout his early career, he gained hands-on experience in the Sheet Metal Manufacturing and Engineering & Test Divisions, holding key roles in both technical and sales management. In 1964, he was appointed Vice President and Division Manager of the Manufacturing Division. He later assumed the role of President in 1969 and, following his father’s passing in 1978, became Chairman of the Board of Directors.
For nearly 45 years, Mr. Brown has served as Chairman and Chief Executive, overseeing the company’s operations and continuing its legacy of innovation, excellence, and growth.
Jim Kelly’s journey with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. began in 1983 when he worked part-time in the Manufacturing Division while attending college. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Dowling College, he built a successful career in sales and marketing, holding key roles at software companies such as SBA Technologies, Quality Environmental, and Appgen Business Software.
In 2008, Mr. Kelly returned to DTB as a Business Development Manager in the Technical Services Division. He quickly advanced through leadership roles, serving as Vice President of Sales in the Technical Services Division, Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales and Marketing, and Senior Vice President of the Technical Services Division. He later became Executive Vice President before being appointed President.
With expertise in technical services, operations, sales, and marketing, Mr. Kelly continues to drive the company’s strategic growth. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors.
Bob Single joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1979 as a Human Resources Assistant and has since held a variety of key roles across the organization. Over the years, he has served as Director of Purchasing, Personnel, and Corporate Services, as well as Vice President and Secretary. He has also led multiple divisions of the company as Division Manager at various times. Today, he serves as Senior Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Single earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from SUNY Stony Brook University, a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from NYIT, and a Juris Doctor from SUNY Buffalo. His expertise includes contracts, legal affairs, security, corporate safety procedures, and import/export regulations.
Angela Chewning joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1981 as a Benefits Administrator and has been a driving force in the company’s Human Resources department ever since. Over the years, she has taken on various roles, including Human Resources Assistant, Employment Manager, and Human Resources Manager. In 1997, she was promoted to Vice President and Director of Human Resources, and she now serves as Senior Vice President of Human Resources.
Ms. Chewning holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Dowling College, a New York State Advanced Certificate in Labor/Management Studies, and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from SUNY Stony Brook. She also serves as Vice Chairman of the Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board.
With expertise in high-level recruiting for specialized technical and management positions, employee relations, human resources law, benefits, and compensation, Ms. Chewning is dedicated to fostering a positive and dynamic workplace. Passionate about employee engagement, she is committed to continuous improvement and innovation at DTB.
Nelson Cubano joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 2006 as a Technical Writer in the Technical Services Division and has since advanced through a series of leadership roles. His experience includes serving as Project Manager, Technical Writing Supervisor, Department Manager, Shelton Operations Manager, and Director of Programs. Today, he leads the division as Senior Vice President.
Before joining DTB, Mr. Cubano served in the U.S. Air Force, where he held roles as an Auxiliary Power Unit Maintenance Mechanic, Jet Engine Intermediate Mechanic, and ultimately, Propulsion Section Manager at Dover Air Force Base. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics from Wilmington College and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
With expertise in technical services, operations, organizational management, and customer service, Mr. Cubano is committed to driving innovation and excellence within the Technical Services Division.
Bill Bradshaw joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1997 as a Structural Engineer in the Engineering & Test Division, following several years in a similar role at Northrop Grumman. Over the years, he has held key leadership positions, including Structural Engineering Supervisor, Design Manager, Engineering Manager, and Vice President of the Mission Systems Division. Today, he serves as Senior Vice President & Chief Engineer.
Mr. Bradshaw holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University and a Master’s degree in Applied Mechanics from Polytechnic University. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New York State. His expertise includes stress and structural analysis, as well as static and fatigue testing.
As Chief Engineer, Mr. Bradshaw provides critical expertise to both the Engineering & Test Division and the Mission Systems Division, in an advisory role, leveraging his extensive knowledge to support high-level initiatives. His leadership extends to Corporate Maintenance, where he oversees major projects, further contributing to DTB’s ongoing growth and infrastructure improvements.
Ivette Cálix Damish joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 2012 as a Business Development Executive in the Technical Services Division. Her dedication to expanding the division’s business led to her promotion to Director of Business Development and, eventually, Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales & Marketing.
Prior to joining DTB, Ivette worked at Dimension4, where she served as Vice President of Business Development. In this role, she managed business development, program management, and contract fulfillment. She began her career there as a CAD Operator and progressed through roles including Customer Support Manager and Technical Support Manager before becoming Vice President.
Ivette holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree with a focus on Architecture from Texas A&M University. Her expertise and leadership continue to drive the growth and success of DTB’s sales and marketing initiatives.
Tom Wenzler began his career with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1988 as a Program Manager in the Technical Services Division. Over the years, he has taken on several key roles, including Engineering Writing Manager and Senior Vice President and Division Manager of the Technical Services Division.
Mr. Wenzler now serves as Vice President of the Technical Services Division. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management, both from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. With a focus on technical writing and logistics services, Mr. Wenzler specializes in the estimating, operational, and financial management of the Technical Services Division.
Kristian Norheim joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 2023 as Vice President and General Manager of the Engineering & Test Division. His passion for aerospace began during his service in the United States Marine Corps, where he worked as an AV-8B electrical/avionics technician. Throughout his career, Kristian has gained extensive experience in various aerospace sectors, including corporate aviation, airframe and avionics modification, component repair and overhaul, and OEM parts manufacturing and distribution.
For the past decade, he has combined his technical expertise with strong business leadership, managing sales and business development teams in the aerospace market. Kristian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management from Dowling College.
Before joining DTB, Kristian was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Arkwin Industries in Westbury, N.Y., and Director of Operations at AAR Aircraft Component Services in Garden City, N.Y. He is a decorated Marine Corps veteran, having received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and a United States Marine Corps Certificate of Commendation.
Bill Courbanou joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1988 as Assistant Controller and quickly advanced to Controller later that same year. His previous experience with Arthur Young and Company, American Express, and The Greater New York Savings Bank played a pivotal role in his success and led to his promotion to Director of Information in 1995.
Throughout his tenure, Bill has led key initiatives, including the creation of Athena, the migration to ADP for Payroll and HR, and the transition from Athena to Deltek.
Currently serving as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Courbanou holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Syracuse University School of Management and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Caitlin O’Neill joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 2020 as Procurement Manager at our PAX River, Maryland site. Her expertise and dedication were quickly recognized, leading to her promotion to Director of Procurement in August 2021. Caitlin’s prior experience includes serving as Procurement Manager at General Dynamics Information Technology, a deployment in Iraq with IAP Worldwide Services, and various purchasing roles at BAE Systems and R4 Inc.
Currently, she serves as Vice President of Procurement. Caitlin holds an MBA from Westwood College in Denver, Colorado, and a BA in Political Science from East Stroudsburg University. Her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality have been key in providing audit support, while her customer-first approach has proven invaluable in ensuring customer satisfaction.
Don Patterson joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 2019 as a Program Manager at our PAX River, Maryland facility. Prior to joining DTB, Don served in the U.S. Navy for 35 years, rising through the ranks from Airman to Commander. His distinguished military career culminated at NAS PAX River, where he served as the Naval Test Wing Atlantic Aircraft Maintenance Officer, overseeing sustainment and maintenance activities for three test squadrons and the Test Pilot School.
After retiring from the Navy, Don worked with several government contractors in roles such as Avionics Engineer, Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, and Program Manager. He joined DTB in January 2020 as a Manager in the Test Systems Division, where he oversaw the fabrication and integration of mobile communication SCIFs for the military.
Currently, he serves as Vice President of the Mission Systems Division, where he oversees our PAX River facilities and operations. Don holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Matt May joined Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 2007 as a Welder in the Manufacturing Division before transitioning to the Engineering & Test Division. Over the years, he progressed through various roles, including Technician, Engineer, and Manager. In January 2023, Matt was promoted to Chief Environmental and Dynamics Engineer, and in October 2023, he became Director of Operations. His hard work and dedication have now led to his promotion as Vice President of Operations for the Testing & Engineering Division.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Farmingdale State College and a Master’s degree in Technological Systems Management, with a concentration in Global Operations Management from Stony Brook University. In his new role, Matt is focused on leading the E&T team by fostering collaboration and developing operational strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
